What Next After Manipulation Under Anesthesia?
The Recovery of Dan De Angeli

An Interview with Dan de Angeli

Dan is an avid bicyclist and has been all his life.
If you were to tell Dan that he would have a rehab crisis six weeks after his total knee replacement, only to happily ride his bike 10 miles to visit his surgeon at 12 weeks post surgery, he would certainly not have believed you. Dan de Angeli was kind enough to sit down with PJ Ewing (X10 Recover Coach) to discuss his "knee surgery adventure" in the interview presented above. He covers a lot of ground in the interview. We learn how he used the X10 knee machine. We also hear how he journaled his way through his in-home therapy. And we explore the times when he turned to music to enrich his recovery. If you want to know how to add Shostakovich and The Rolling Stones into your knee recovery, then you are sure to enjoy our talk.

A Patient Journal

With the X10 there is a Patient Journal that you use to track your progress. Your coach also has immediate access to your numbers on the X10... so your coaching calls are incredibly productive. In addition to that Dan kept a private journal of his progress. You can see a few samples of his 'knee diary' below.

Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 in D minor
The Fifth Symphony by Shostakovich is a highly charged piece of music. It is rooted in the history of Russia and the purges by Stalin. Dan found that turning up the volume on this lovely piece of music was a good way of energizing his recovery on The X10.

Dan paid out-of-pocket for two weeks on the X10. He used Care Credit which made monthly payments less than $175 with no interest charged. X10 is not covered by most insurance companies yet, but that has not stopped thousands of knee patients get on the X10 to solve their recovery problem... like Dan.
