The premise of the popular Paleo diet is that if we would mimic the eating habits of our paleolithic predecessors, we would be healthier, less obese, and avoid ailments both big and small including conditions like anxiety, asthma, certain cancers, depression, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, irritable bowel syndrome, and osteoporosis. Today’s guest, Daniel Lieberman has studied extensively the habits of our ancestors. He’s a Harvard evolutionary biologist who has focused his research on  the human body and how it has evolved over millions of years. His book, The Story Of The Human Body: Evolution, Health and Disease, examines the increasing disparity between the needs of our Stone Age bodies and the realities of the modern world. So even though we’re living longer, we’re living with chronic disease.   For more, visit www.kathysmith.com/podcast.
