The story of Ehud in Judges 3 reveals how God uses unlikely people to accomplish His purposes. Ehud, a left-handed outcast, delivered Israel from eighteen years of Moabite oppression through an unexpected plan. His story contains three elements that point to Christ: the sacrifice (Ehud's assassination of King Eglon), the signal (the trumpet call that rallied Israel to victory), and the savior (pointing to ultimate deliverance). Even in this violent narrative, we see God's faithfulness and His redemptive plan unfolding. God delights in using those the world overlooks, working through our perceived weaknesses to bring about His victory.
