Welcome to our new mini-series on all things Wedding Planning!
Wedding planning is one of the most intense times of people's lives (particularly women). So before you start pulling out your eyelashes and eating them, pop them AirPods in and listen up. Laura and Sarah have a fair bit of know-how in this area and are ready to spill the beans on their biggest event triumphs and regrets.
Are you planning a wedding? DOESN'T MATTER. Because this pod will still be entertaining AF. Also at some point no doubt you will get married yourself or support someone near and dear who is making their way through the seventh circle of hell (the planning NOT the wedding . . .hopefully)
Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen as we launch episode 1 of Wedding Planning.

welcome, welcome, welcome!
WARNING: this pod includes a lot of adult vibes and also includes a butt-load of spoilers
if you are new to the pod we are about to pop that cherry! if you listen to the pod all the time this is a steamy bonus episode and out of our normal mini-series programming.
this week, we are getting sexy(ish?) and going to be chatting about the willy (and the TV show) that women all over Australia are talking about.
that's right! we are going to be discussing Netflix's hit series Sex/Life.
in a nutshell:
- Laura loves the series and believes it explores some really interesting themes about evolving through life's different stages and grieving old your old life
- Sarah passionately hates the show and thinks it is 40% unhelpful, 40% problematic and 20% painfully bad acting
so tune in, sit back and enjoy smart women have a respectful and fun disagreement!

if you want to talk about Sex/Life, join the discussion on the closed Facebook group @what she said, or follow @whatshesaid.podcast on Instagram.
We’ve chatted about feminism and debunked feminist myths (i.e. that feminism is actually only about equality and not about hating men).
Then we unpacked the Handmaid’s Tail and discussed some of the real-life parallels that prove why we have and will continue to need feminism.
By now (if you weren’t already) you’re hopefully sitting safely and happily in the feminist camp. If not, please join the party, it ain’t that bad!
This week, we are going to be chatting about some of the many *face palm* moments you’ll likely encounter with people who either:
- Don’t understand feminism,
- Aren’t aware of their internalised misogyny,
- Or who are anti-feminism completely.
The point of this episode is to simply equip you with the tools to take back to your loved ones, colleagues, boss or that wanker you know (I bet someone is ringing a bell) so that you can have an educated conversation with them and hopefully, you can bring them on board.
Otherwise, you can leave the conversation knowing you gave it a crack and did your part! As let's be real, there's no worse feeling than walking away and knowing you didn't say anything. ENJOY!

aaaaaand we are back!
*trigger warning people - this ep talks about violence and sexual assault.
part two of our mini series focussing on all things Modern Women! today we are chit-chatting about all things The Handmaid's Tale. This Golden Globe winning, Emmy hoarding phenomenon has smashed into our Tvs (and our brains). annnd we need to talk about it. this ep is for people who love the Handmaid's Tale, this ep is also for people who have never seen the Handmaids Tale.
we will be exploring:
- whats it all about
- why are women so obsessed with it?
- how the show relates to women in the here and now
show note:
- the movie title of Sarah's forgotten movie title Promising Young Woman.
Welcome to our new series!
Starting right here, right now we are dropping the first episode on our mini-series which is focussing on all things Modern Women. This new mini series is going to feature four killer episodes that focus on different aspects of Australian modern women's lives.
TODAY is all about fabulous feminism
We talk about
WHAT is it all about
WHY we need it
WHO it helps
HOW you can be an awesome-kickarse-fab FEMINIST.
We promise this is not (maybe a little bit) an angry lady rant. Cue the misogyny lol.
We promise you will love this episode
AND
We promise to be smart and bring the lols. So give us a chance.
Welcome back to another episode of what she said podcast!
This week, Laura's baby hasn't slept and Sarah is overtired from working her side hustle all weekend and her full-time job during the week to buckle in because this week the girls are bringing the sleep-deprived LOLs.
Then they will be discussing the deep dive topic of the week ‘adult friendships & mismatched timelines’ where they’ll be unpacking:
- situationships, kindred spirits, work-wives and every other kind of friendship
- what causes friendships to grow together or grow apart?
- how to maintain and make those friendships work . . .oe let them go
Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete episode without Sarah and Laura sharing their "yeah" and "nah" of the week – and this week Sarah has bought some 'man shoes'.
Get ready for some great one-liners and belly laughs!
Welcome to our thirteenth episode of ‘what she said podcast’, hosted by Tassie friends Laura and Sarah. This podcast episode is chocker-block full of innuendo and outright adult content so if you have small ears around maybe come back to this episode (we promise it is worth coming back to).
