What The Factual? Series 3 - Episode 8 - The History of Italy

Listen Later

Series 3, Episode 8 of What The Factual sees Pete taking the reins this week as he meanders through almost the entire history of the beautiful, chaotic and passionate peninsular we now know as the Republic of Italy.

From early settlers to constant waves of Germanic warriors to Ancient Rome and, well, a more modern Rome. They take in the people with long beards, the people who liked watching animal fights and all the wonders of Sicily, Venice and the greatest World Cup ever held (in Pete's humble opinion).

In Chew The Fact and Love Factually they discover why an ostrich is called an ostrich, why shuffling a deck of cards can create a little piece of history and how many cigars a day is a little too many cigars a day.
