A good soundtrack can change a great game into an incredible game by communicating character emotion, building and characterising worlds, and, in .the best of times, assisting in the narrative of the game.

Video game composers face a particular challenge - to compose music that will usually be heard on a non-stop loop, often needing to epitomise a location, theme or ethos without being overly invasive. So what the hell are the best video game soundtracks any way?
