Mandy on the Mountain

What the Lightning Bugs Know

Listen Later

Mandy returns to the porch after a quiet break to explain why the handwritten letter she promised is still waiting to be read. Sometimes life changes before we have the words to describe it.

Instead of reading the letter, she shares what she’s been doing instead: riding Magnolia, floating the creek, listening to old records, and watching the lightning bugs that fill Appalachian summer evenings. Along the way, she reflects on the surprising science behind their tiny flashes of light and how those silent conversations became a reminder that some of life’s most meaningful messages are easy to miss when we’re moving too fast.

This episode is an invitation to slow down, notice the ordinary, and remember that not every story is meant to be told before it’s fully lived.
