On Ep. 12 of What the Spirit is Saying to the Church, international worship leader Rick Pino talks about taking worship into culture. Rick has lead worship in over 80 different nations, been part of revivals, and leads night and day prayer meetings in the city of Austin, Texas. From this level of global experience, Rick says that the days of Sunday morning Christianity are over! With less than 2% of Christians in vocational ministry, we need a new mindset for the new era. Rick himself has done just that. He moved to Austin, Texas, the LIVE MUSIC CAPITAL OF THE WORLD because he has a dream . . . "What if the live music capital became the live worship capital?" Austin is home to one of the largest international music festivals in the world, "Austin City Limits." You can't sign up to play there – you have to be approved. After a prayer meeting one day, Rick called up the organizers and asked if they could play at Austin City Limits. The organizers gave them favor and said they could come in for half price ($200,000 USD). Rick and his team raised the money and hosted a 3-day event called PRESENCE in the middle of the Austin City Limits music festival. The event manager came to their tent and, with tears in his eyes, said "I don't know who you are, I don't know where you came from, but I need to tell you right now, but this is the best event we have ever had at Austin City Limits. In fact, this is the best event I have ever been to in my life."
This is the power of the future incarnational worship movement. Surrounded by other tents playing metal music, country music, with the best bands in the world, the worship of Jesus reigns supreme. Rick is forerunning where worship is going – into the daily lives of the city you live in. When you are willing to take your worship into the strongholds of the enemy, the Jebusite stronghold will be transformed into Jerusalem, the city of the great king!
So, WHAT IS THE SPIRIT SAYING to the worship movements in the new era? "Worship more! Worship everywhere! Keep worshipping!"
