The Outback Way Podcast

What to do at Uluru, with Lee Mylne

Listen Later

Helen speaks with well-known travel journalist Lee Mylne about all there is to see and do at Uluru now that the climb is closed. Far from limited options, there are so many activities, tours and adventures you can still have at Uluru and really enjoy the beauty of the landscape in Central Australia.
Lee shares her experiences visiting Uluru and why it's great to spend a few days in the area to immerse yourself in the atmosphere and absorb the emotional impact of the rock. Some activities Helen and Lee discuss in this episode include walking tours with Indigenous guides, both shorter trails and circumnavigating Uluru. You can also do bicycle tours, hire a segueway or have a camel ride at sunrise or sunset.
There are also scenic flights and hot air balloon trips available, as well as star gazing and Bruce Monroe's Field of Light Installation. Of course there are the usual resort-style activities also available at Ayers Rock Resort
