Today’s meeting will be Putin’s first invitation to meet a US President on American soil since he last visited George W Bush eighteen years ago. Some have described the highly anticipated meeting between Trump and Putin as Russia’s way to show the US that Putin is more than ready to agree to peace if the conditions are right.
