The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt - winner of a Pulitzer Prize, the basis of a star-studded movie adaptation, and not to mention Laura's *actual* favourite book. It's long, it's divisive, and it's well worth reading. 

WARNING: Dropping this book on your face while reading in bed could cause serious and permanent injury. It's heavy.
