Bringing house elements to a classic hip-hop recipe, Dash Machete's sound is both familiar and unique. Her sharp punchlines, soul-lifting vocals, and hip-hop percussions are reminiscent of Sade, Azealia Banks, and Doja Cat. The radiant Caribbean vibe frequently woven into her songs distinguishes her music from several of her R&B/Hiphop counterparts. Growing up, Dash heard everything from Kelis, to The Beatles to disco in her home. Later being introduced to Lauryn Hill.
