Homily for Friday of the First Week of Lent, 2022, delivered in Our Lady Star of the Sea, Gladstone, Qld.
“Am I likely to take pleasure in the death of a wicked man – it is the Lord who speaks – and not prefer to see him renounce his wickedness and live?” (cf. Ez 18:23). "If you, O Lord, should mark our guilt, Lord, who would survive?" (Ps 130). Our virtue must go deeper than this, if we, are to ever enter the kingdom of heaven (cf. Mt 5).
