During the pre-flight instructions (that everyone kind of ignores), travelers are told about emergency exits, seatbelts, floatation devices, and oxygen masks. If you ever pay attention, you’ll notice that there’s an emphasis ensuring your well-being first before you attempt to help another. While that can sound selfish, it actually just embraces a simple truth: you cannot help others when you’re incapacitated yourself. As a church, we have a heart to see much change in this world and in our spheres of influence. But we cannot do anything if our own church isn’t functioning in a vibrant and healthy way. Today, we’re going to look at some simple basics that allow our church to thrive. We need each person who is a part of Hope to be committed to three actions, and the well-being of our church will rise or fall depending on how we each respond.
