So many of us battle the fear of being alone, especially during the holiday season. Some of us will fill our space with people and get into a relationship so that we aren't alone, and yet we STILL feel alone...
Some of us do activities alone to try to face the fear, but no matter how many times we sit in a restaurant eating a meal by ourselves, or spend time doing anything by ourselves, whether it's going to the movie theaters, going to a party, or going on a trip, we continue to hold onto that fear of being alone.
Just because you are surrounded by people or find yourself in a relationship, or just because you are able to do certain activities being alone, doesn't necessarily mean you are no longer afraid of being alone.
Those are just external things. If you find that you are needing or dependent on external things and others to help dissolve some fears and loneliness from your life, or if you find yourself still feeling lonely when you're alone, it's indication that there are still things deep within you that still need acknowledging and healing.
The real fear of being alone is the loneliness, the feeling of not being belonged, the lack of connection, the lack of acceptance, lack of being seen or loved, and most importantly, having to face ourselves.
Most times we avoid being alone because we don't want to face who we are, and the horrible thoughts and feelings that come with the life stories that have created the fear in the first place.
Allow yourself to face these fears, even if it's YOU that you are truly afraid of seeing.
In this episode, we unpack the fear of being alone and discuss ways on how to finally face it and heal it.
