Things We Wish We Had Known In Our Twenties
Keep a journal, but don't let it keep you. Delight in the small things. Be mindful in the moment of how each experience shapes our lives and others. Enjoy your youth; don't despise it. We don't get any years or days back. It takes time to become yourself; "embrace" and slow down. Don't live someone else's vision of your life. Stop waiting for the world to give you permission. We choose how we show up in the world. GIVE GIVE GIVE This is the time to transition from being "voluntold" to volunteering. Be prepared to deal with unwelcome and unexpected emotions such as sadness or loneliness by coping ahead. Thoughts are things you put inside your brain (the mind and brain are separate). Compete against yourself and no one else. Don't draw lines in the sand or burn all the bridges. Decide ahead of time how you will react when someone triggers or offends you. Find a qualified counselor or life coach to help you walk through life. Explore your own faith. Dr. Caroline Leaf https://amzn.to/3wE7Sy1 Jesus Calling https://amzn.to/3iDpkdTThe LORD is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
9He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.
10He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
11For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
12He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
13The LORD is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
14For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust.
15Our days on earth are like grass;
like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
16The wind blows, and we are gone—
as though we had never been here.
17But the love of the LORD remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children
18of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments!
Psalm 103:8-18
