College sports postponing sports
Trevor - Opinion
Mark - No opinion (Don’t get fired!) - will provide examples of what KCAC and NAIA are doing.
NAIA - governs 20 conferences around the country (Also have the Association of Independent Institutions)
Has given conferences autonomy to make decision on if they will play in the fall - KCAC is.
Have postponed fall championships to spring, will still allow conferences to compete in fall if they so choose.
Practice and start of games - pushed back roughly two weeks.
KCAC
Has declared intent to return play in the fall.
Football - has an altered schedule, allowing for play in the fall, makeup days, and potential games in the spring.
NBA Playoffs starting soon
Western Conference - playoff picture becoming a little clearer. 7 teams set, still a race for the eighth seed.
Portland - currently in 8th seed. Damian Lillard - playing out of his mind!
Memphis, Phoenix, San Antonio still alive! (All 0.5 games back)
Memphis - would be fun to see their young core get some experience in the playoffs! Injuries to Jaren Jackson Jr. (torn meniscus) and Justice Winslow (hip) hurt those chances.
Phoenix - 7-0 in seeding games!
Eliminated - New Orleans, Sacramento.
Eastern Conference - set.
Aug 14 - last day of regular play. At least one play in game (8 vs. 9) on Aug. 15, another on Aug 16 if necessary. Games being played Thursday will determine 8 and 9 seeds (team “on the bubble” aren’t scheduled to play on Aug 14)
