In 2020, U.S. VC firms deployed a vast amount of capital, but not only did the portion of funds to female founders drop, so did the funding to female-led startups. As the impact of the COVID-19 continues to be felt, closing the global gender gap has also increased by a generation from 99.5 years to 135.6 years, according to the World Economic Forum.
