Some people will go out and work 2-3 hours of their 8-hour work day and think they deserve a raise.  When you receive something you haven't earned, you tend to give it away.  People who make a ton of money, tend to earn more because they deserve it.  They're grateful for it.  They invest it and protect it.  Most people spend or blow through their gifts.  The mindset is different when you earn something.
