It takes a person with great strength of character to stand up against those who are opposing the truth, but to do it in a posture of love. You could slam someone for doing the wrong thing and cause that person to never want to speak to you again. Or you could approach that person more gently, but firmly, pointing him or her to the truth in God’s Word, and allow God to move and work in that person’s heart. Throughout this book, there are nuggets of advice given that help Timothy lead a church.
