When it became clear that Donald Trump would be the Republican Party candidate for the Presidency, Chris Vance made it known that he would not support Trump. His stance put him at odds with Trump supporters and others in the state Republican Party as Vance sought to unseat Democratic incumbent Patty Murray in the U.S. Senate race.
