Today we are going to look at What's Going On by Marvin Gaye. It was a protest song that Motown didn't want released. Marvin basically had to give them an ultimatum that they release the song or he wouldn't work with them anymore. I think they are glad they put it out because it was a hit. Let's listen to the heartbeat of the protest before dismissing it.
