The Original Buffalo Wool Company was chartered in 1821 by the Hudson Bay Co. in Red River Manitoba, headed by Lady Selkirk, the wife of the then governor. The plan was to harvest bison fiber and make ladies hosiery They were founded and funded with £5000,and after spending almost 4/5th of that investment on rum, proceeded to go bankrupt fairly quickly.  Fast forward 190 years, The BWC was revived both in name and spirit by Theresa & Ron Miskin.  Ron an ex-restauranteur and Theresa, a public housing councilor.  Ron and "T" have spent the last 10 years traveling around the globe as "bison ambassadors" showing off the beauty and benefits of bison and bison fiber.
