When The Ark of the Covenant was constructed, three items were placed inside. A container

holding manna, Aarons staff, and a second set of the 10 commandments carved in stone.

These “tokens” were encased in a wood box that was coated in gold. The lid or “cover” of this

box was called the mercy seat. Let’s explore what and why these contents were placed inside
