Maintaining good health and wellness is important in our lives. As we take care of our physical bodies, we also nurture our spiritual selves. In Luke 10:38-42, we read about the story of Mary and Martha. Martha was busy serving, while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, listening to him. Martha was worried about many things while Mary focused on the one thing that was important.In our pursuit of health and fitness, we can often become like Martha, striving to achieve perfection, and getting lost in the details. We can easily forget the importance of taking time to care for our spiritual well-being. Just like Mary, we need to take time to sit at the feet of Jesus, reflect on our spiritual health, and listen to His guidance.As we care for our physical bodies, we need to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is essential to keep them healthy and active. We can do this by exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, and getting enough rest. However, it is equally important to care for our spiritual selves. Just as we exercise our bodies, we need to exercise our faith by studying the Bible, praying, and spending time with God.Let us learn from Mary and choose the one thing that is important. Let us focus on nurturing our spiritual selves as we take care of our physical bodies. By doing so, we will find the balance we need to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
