There's hardly a better example of historical buildings being reused than a three-story building built in 1923 on Champlain Avenue in Woodlawn, half a block south of Washington Park. It's not only because of how the building has been reused—from a synagogue, to a series of Christian congregations, and is now part single-family home and part maker space and artists club. It's also the literal reuse of building materials from 103 years ago in its still-ongoing transformation by a local couple. We'll learn more from one of the homeowners and In the Loop's architecture expert, Dennis Rodkin.
