What’s That On You?

Listen Later

Proverbs 3:3

Do not let truth and mercy leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

Alright — Thanksgiving is coming in 20 days.

Family. Food. Photos. Folks asking nosy questions.

And listen… you wanna look right at the table.

Fresh cut, clean kicks, whole fit on point.

But imagine this:

You walk into Thanksgiving dinner

and before they even notice your sweater,

your sneakers, your fresh fade…

They just stare.

Like, “Hold up — something is on you.”

You glowing. You lighter.

They can’t explain it — but they feel it.

So they ask you,

“Yo… what is that you wearing?”

And you just smile:

“G & T.”

Not gin and tonic —

Grace & Truth.

The Bible says wear these.

Not just believe them, think about them, or repost them — wear them.

“Bind them around your neck.”

That’s fashion. That’s fragrance.

That’s identity.

Two Hebrew words:

(חֶסֶד) ḥeseḏ — covenant love, mercy, kindness, grace poured out.

(אֱמֶת) ‘ĕmeṯ— truth, faithfulness, reality, reliability.

Some of us are “truth only.”

We walk in like police sirens — facts first, feelings nowhere.

Others stay “grace only” — soft, sweet, never say the hard thing.

Jesus didn’t split ‘em.

He came full of grace and truth.

That’s balance. That’s mastery.

That’s Reese’s revelation — chocolate and peanut butter become

more together than separate.

Grace without truth is mushy.

Truth without grace is mean.

But grace + truth?

That’s Kingdom fit.

That’s the glow of the Holy Spirit on a soul aligned.

And Proverbs says don’t just admire it — wear it.

You know how we wear jewelry, cologne, watches —

not just to look good, but to remember who we are?

Sacred symbols matter.

Not idols — icons of reminder.

Sometimes the right symbol pulls your spirit back into place.

You ain’t worshiping the necklace —

you’re remembering the nature.

So if somebody says,

“You shining. Did you lose weight? New haircut?

Something different about you…”

Tell ‘em:

“Nah, just got my G & T on today.”

And when Heaven sees it?

It smells like victory.

Paul called it “the fragrance of triumph.”

So Remember

Don’t just talk grace.

Don’t just defend truth.

Wear both — and watch people see God all on you.

Prayer

Lord, dress me in grace and anchor me in truth today.

Today’s Challenge

Pick one symbol today — a bracelet, a ring, a chord, a note in your pocket —

and let it remind you to walk in grace and speak in truth.

Wear your G & T.

Make Heaven look good.

And walk in like Thanksgiving starts now.
