As coaches, it’s easy to spend so much of our time working with our clients. Between coaching calls, follow-up communication, prospecting, and all the other hats we wear as coaches, when do you find the time to actually work ‘on’ your business, not just ‘in’ your business?
About a year ago I made the decision to block out Fridays for working on business Keynote Content. Now, I spend as close to 100 percent of my time on Fridays creating content, improving our systems and processes, and developing our brand message more.
This means I don’t do any work ‘on’ Keynote Content items throughout the rest of the week. It also means I now limit client work to the rest of the week.
This conscious decision has helped me finish two online courses, create and launch our new flagship coaching program, triple my LinkedIn connections with qualified, interesting connections who fit my target market, and build out some exciting new content streams, like our Keynote Clarity for Thought Leader Flash Briefing.
Blocking out a full day each week for you to work on your brand message may not be realistic for you right now, and that’s okay. What would it look like for you to block out a set time each week to work on your brand message? Maybe it’s half a day or maybe an hour. Whatever it is, the intentional decision to block out time to work on developing your brand more will pay huge dividends in the next few years.
