If the Scriptures were a physical mountain, there would be certain specifics you could only come to know by seeing it from the sky while quickly flying over it: How it looks as a whole, how it compares to the landscape around it, etc. These quick overviews help explain the overall themes and layout of the Bible and can in that way be useful.
