There is a continued call to repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act from 1996. Conservatives seem to have united behind the cause of eliminating the liability protection for big tech companies. It seems many do not have a full understanding of the law.
The law does provide protections to conservatives and liberals alike. While social media may have been biased against conservatives, the elimination of Section 230 entirely would be a mistake.
Jared explains the law and how it works. He explains the importance of how conservatives are also protected by the law. Then he starts taking a look at options to deal with the potential bias.
There is one clause in the Section that Jared believes could be eliminated after a review. The law was written long before social media existed. With the changing of how we communicate, it seems likely that the law should be reviewed and this section specifically addressed.
Jared then moves on to New York where Gov. Andrew Cuomo has again put elderly lives in danger. He is responsible for the deaths of many in New York early in the pandemic for how he handled the mandatory long-term care admission. He placed many lives in danger, but then denied he ever acted.
This time, he has placed addicts in rehab ahead of those who are most vulnerable. Those who are elderly are more at risk from the virus, but Cuomo appears to believe that they are expendable. It's a sign that those in New York need to pay attention to and eliminate Cuomo from office.
