The Cape Winemakers Guild is a collective of some of the most respected winemakers in the country. Founded in 1982, it now has some 48 members. The Guild has made a significant contribution to the development of the SA wine industry, and it is making a material difference to transformation, through its protégé programme. The annual Guild auction sees some of South Africa's finest wines go under the hammer, but the covid-19 pandemic has necessitated a change in approach for this year's auction.
