In my first ever episode I touch up on steps to follow if you’re considering moving abroad. Steps to follow if moving abroad:
1.learn a second language preferably English and take an official test to show ur proficiency
2.Make sure you have a financial plan or enough money to support yourself for at least 6 months.
3.make sure your country of choice is the right one (culture, vacation if possible, economic situation, education, laws)
4.have a plan (study? Work?) Look into actual jobs and or universities
5.Get recommendation letters from your teachers, they will always come in handy
6.Research about residency permits and visas on official government sites
7.Go to the embassy and have an interview with anyone who can give you details and tips
8.Make sure to get an international credit card, trust me, they’re life savers
9.Check housing and prices
10.Research about which paperwork you need to take with you like (CV, certificates, diplomas) and get them all officially translated to English.
11.Check ticket fares and take in account luggage and weight
12.Remember tourist “visas” are 90 days so don’t book a one way ticket or a +90 day stay because....
13.Unless you already have a visa or residence permit, DO NOT tell the people at the airport you’re moving to that country, they can detain you and make you pay a very expensive fine- 300 euros expensive fine
14.Be mentally prepared, it’s hard and lonely for the first couple weeks but just be resilient
