If you’re wanting to be seen as a thought leader in your industry, then you need to be sharing great content.
The reality is you may not have the time, the resources, or the connections right now to create the type of content you want to create.
So, how do you create great content in your current situation? And, how do you create a great game plan for improving the quality of your content over time?
I use a simple equation called the Thought Leader Messaging Equation, and it’s fairly simple. The equation itself is T times I times E-equals-Q-C. I’ll break it down for you.
The T stands for Time, how much time are you able to invest in creating great content right now? If you’re a new parent or you’re traveling a lot or buried in client projects, your Time may be limited right now. That’s okay!
That’s where we come to the next part of the equation, I, which stands for Interest. This is about your Interest in the type of content you’re creating as well as your audience’s Interest in that same type of content.
That leads us to the third part of our equation, E: what is the level of Expertise you can include in your content right now? If you’re just getting started and you’re sort of new to your industry, you may not have a lot of Expertise. That’s okay!
Each of those leads to our final outcome: QC or Quality of Content. What’s the overall quality of your content?
Over the next few days I’m going to share more about how to evaluate where you’re at with each of these three factors, Time, Interest, and Expertise, and how to be creative with improving your content over the next 90 days.
