Though the disciples initially mourned his departure, Jesus’ ascension allowed him to send the Holy Spirit, intercede for believers, and prepare a place in heaven. This new mode of Christ’s presence empowers the church to carry out his mission, do greater works, and experience the fullness of his blessings.
