Hello again;
I hope you are staying safe.
Today, I'm bringing you a bonus episode of the podcast.
I say that because I recently decided to move the release date of my show to Wednesdays to make it easier on me to help my friend Emily Trepanier with her podcast Shredding For Gold.
I interviewed Emily back in September to coincide with the launch of her podcast on the What's Your Excuse? Network.
Sadly, I ran into some computer troubles and allowed them to keep me from sharing this amazing conversation with you until now.
Emily is a totally fearless blind snowboarder, adventurer, and podcaster.
We talked about so many topics.
She shared how her family encouraged her to set goals and go after them. And how that carried over into her adult life.
We talked about her learning to ski and then to snowboard. And how her love for the sport lead her to set a goal of competing in the Paralympics and winning gold in downhill snowboard racing.
We talked about her love for challenging sometimes risky sports and how she handles the fear.
We talked about what lead her to get a guide dog. And then talked about her current sidekick Darling as well as her first dog Olivia.
And of course we talked about her new podcast. Including the origin of the Team Starfish name and the new podcast name of Shredding For Gold.
It was an amazing conversation. I so enjoyed my time with Emily.
And I almost forgot. In honor of Emily I changed up some of the lyrics to my song titled If You Don't Ask on the intro.
