The suspect, Cole Tomas Allen, did not verbally confess after his arrest, but authorities recovered a lengthy manifesto he sent to family members detailing his intent to target Donald Trump and administration officials. 
About 10 minutes before rushing the security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton on Saturday night, the 31-year-old California tutor sent the 1,000-word document to his family. His brother immediately notified local police in Connecticut, who then flagged federal law enforcement, but the attack was already unfolding.
