This is your Daily Wheat Price Tracker with Vanessa Clark podcast.

Good morning and welcome back to Daily Wheat Price Tracker. I'm Vanessa Clark, and I'm so glad you're joining me today, Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, for your daily update on what's happening in the wheat markets.

Let's jump right into today's closing prices. December Chicago wheat futures finished the day down just a cent and a half at four dollars and ninety-eight cents and three-quarters per bushel. We also saw December hard red winter wheat trading around four dollars and seventy-seven cents, while soft red winter wheat hovered near five dollars and nine cents. So we're seeing some slight downward pressure, but nothing too dramatic.

Now, what's driving the market today? Well, wheat has been struggling to gain momentum despite some technical buying and short covering. The big story continues to be overwhelming global supply. Russia, the world's largest wheat exporter, shipped seven point one million metric tons between July and September, which is down eighteen percent from last year. But here's the thing: they've harvested a massive crop this season, and analysts expect exports to really ramp up in October, potentially reaching four point seven to five point two million tons.

We're also seeing intense competition from other major exporters. The European Union is projecting soft wheat output at one hundred forty point one million metric tons, and both Argentina and Australia are seeing strong harvest prospects with favorable weather conditions. Argentina just raised their wheat harvest estimate to twenty-three million metric tons, which could be a historical record if it comes to fruition.

On the demand side, there's finally some good news. Recent price drops have triggered buying interest from importers who've been sitting on the sidelines. Jordan just tendered for around sixty thousand tons of hard milling wheat, and South Korean flour mills purchased an estimated fifty thousand tons from the United States. Egypt, a major buyer, is also expected to increase demand in October thanks to a strengthening currency.

Thanks so much for tuning in today. Be sure to subscribe so you never miss an update, and I'll catch you tomorrow with all the latest wheat market news!
