Jared Hones and his brothers won the Great Wheelbarrow Race, completing a 140-kilometre stretch across far north Queensland to raise money for their local animal refuge. After crossing the finish line first in the three-day event, Jared surprised his girlfriend Victoria by proposing, having carried the engagement ring in his pocket during the final runs. The race raised over $230,000 for charity this year.
