Meera's mother went to her school one day, but everyone was missing—Meera, her friends, the teachers, the principal, even the watchman. Where had they all disappeared?

Here are some ways to engage students using this story: 
1. Invite students to talk about whether they have ever seen a snake in real life. What does it look like? What does it eat? Where does it live?etc. 
2. Encourage students to imagine how they would react if they saw a snake in their classroom. Then ask them to think and share what one should really do in that case.
