When Anxiety Overwhelms?

Listen Later

There are times when a little pressure can be a good thing. But many teens today are far beyond that point, and dealing with crushing anxiety.
Teens worry about grades, AP classes, college prep, sports, friends, the list goes on. It’s no wonder that so many kids today feel overwhelmed. And when they’re under-equipped to deal with their emotions, they turn to unhealthy means of escape.
Maybe they cope by losing themselves in video games and Facebook. They could look for temporary relief in drugs and alcohol. Or they might even express their inner turmoil through outbursts.
Parents, could your teen be boiling in the pressure cooker of stress and worry? Look for the warning signs, and be prepared to help them find a healthy way to let off some steam.
