Dr George Kassianos CBE, MD 

Dr.George Kassianos is the National Immunization Lead of the Royal College of General Practitioners of which he is a Fellow. President and Fellow of the British Global & Travel Health Association (BGTHA), Fellow Faculty of Travel Medicine Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons Glasgow, and the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM).

Dr.Kassianos is the Chair of RAISE, a Pan-European Group (18 countries) on Influenza and Board Member of the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI). He is on the Editorial Board of The British Journal of Cardiology, Geriatric Medicine, Primary Care Cardiovascular Journal, The British Journal of Family Medicine, the Bulgarian journal Preventive Medicine, The Journal of Travel Medicine of the International Society of Travel Medicine, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health  Supporting Guest Editor, and is the GP editorial consultant for the journal Guidelines in Practice, and as Associate Editor (Primary Care) of ‘Drugs In Context’ international journal. He is preparing the 5th edition of his book “Immunisations, Childhood & Travel Health.” 

He is President of the British Global & Travel Health Association (BGTHA) and serves on the NICE GP Reference Panel, as well as the Public Health England UK Advisory Panel on Healthcare Workers Infected with Bloodborne Viruses

He is the recipient of the Royal College of General Practitioners’ Foundation Council Award (2018), the most prestigious award for services to the College and General Practice.

In October 2020, Her Majesty the Queen appointed Dr Kassianos a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to General Practice and Travel Medicine.
