When God Arise
Psalms 68:1,3 & 4
“God will arise. His enemies will be scattered. Those who hate him will flee from him. But let righteous people rejoice. Let them celebrate in God’s presence. Let them overflow with joy. Sing to God; make music to praise his name. Make a highway for him to ride through the deserts. The Lord is his name. Celebrate in his presence.” Psalms 68:1, 3-4 GW
I must have been around the age 9 or 10 when this incident happened. All I could remember was that I found myself fighting with this boy in the neighborhood and he ended up giving me the dirtiest slap I have ever had in my life till date - I saw stars - literally. I staggered back in my steps and while I was still trying to recover from what just hit me I saw my elder sister appear in the distance walking towards my direction, I pulled myself together with confidence that now I will be avenged but the boy, on the other hand, started fidgeting.
Two reactions happened in my story there - I was happy that my defender was near but the boy knew he was in trouble.
We can relate this to when God arises on behalf of His children, one thing is for certain - the enemy WILL scatter - the workers of iniquity cannot stand in His presence - THEY WILL SCATTER. But the sad part is THE RIGHTEOUS - we sometimes don’t recognize this move of God. Like Paul and Silas, we pray and worship in anticipation of God’s intervention and when the rumbling of earthquakes start because God is on the move - we sometimes mistake for more of the enemy’s handiwork.
Do you remember the Father that brought his child to Jesus - after Jesus arrived and commanded the unclean spirit to leave him - the boy was thrown into a fierce episode of the attack to the point that he was presumed dead but we all know now that it was just the demon trembling/scattering at Jesus’s command.
So what do you do AFTER you have prayed but it seemed as if the enemy got stronger? It appeared the situation got worse rather than better. I want you to remember this - that is them trembling and scattering because God, your redeemer is here.
It is time to LET yourself rejoice at His rising, do not be preoccupied with the chaos that ensued as a result of the enemy scattering. It’s time to get your praise on.

Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you because you are with us, you are for us and as the scripture says - if God be for us - who can be against us. Daddy we pray today that you help us remember that you our redeemer is near no matter how fierce the battle may be. We rejoice oh God for we are victorious already!
