It’s easy for us to believe that the burdens and blessings in life are somehow tied to the way we live. That if I’m good, I deserve good, so if something bad happens, it must be something I did. But in our suffering, we need to remember that neither the blessings of God nor burdens allowed by God are dependent on our behavior.
