Mark continues discussing the topic of God not measuring up to our own standard and how the very act of this becomes an idol. At times we question why God did or did not do something. Why did he take my job away from me? Why didn't he save my spouse from cancer? Why doesn't he hear or answer my prayer? These questions overlook the fact that God is sovereign and his ways are beyond ours. If we're not careful we can twist who God is with our own ideas of who we think God should be.
