Many people say that God is good. But there are those whose suffering makes God feel more like an enemy than a friend. If you feel that way, you aren't the first. The people of Lamentations said the same thing long ago: "The Lord has become like an enemy" (Lamentations 2:5).

Lamentations contains the prayers, the cries, the anguish, the confusion, and the rage of a people (God's people) who feel abandoned by Him. This is a book about a people who are fighting to hold on to their faith, fighting to believe that God really is good.

This Sunday, we enter into their story and try to make sense of all the pain in our world. If you are broken-hearted, this weekend may be for you. If you feel forgotten by God, we encourage you to join us. Together, we will see that God is faithful, that God can be trusted with our lives, and that God really is good.
