It was all going horribly wrong. I was a military fast jet pilot and I was in a spin, things were coming apart and I didn't know what to do. I was losing control and all I could think about was the end. But, as I sat in my office looking out over the airfield, I wished that I was having a real emergency in my aircraft because the one I kept having... ...was in my head.
