When Growth Stops Feeling Exciting

141 | When Growth Stops Feeling Exciting | Salarah Kacey Starre

What happens when growth… stops feeling exciting?

In this episode, I’m speaking to the phase no one really talks about in personal development, the moment when the old drivers switch off, but the new self hasn’t fully landed yet. That uncomfortable space between becoming and being.

If you’ve built your identity around evolution, reinvention, pushing forward and expanding… stillness can feel deeply unsettling. The journaling feels flat. The vision boarding doesn’t spark. The urge to reinvent yourself again just isn’t there.

You start wondering: What’s wrong with me?

We explore the idea that this may not be apathy or depression at all, but the quiet death of the striving identity. The part of you that once had to push, prove and perform in order to feel safe or valuable.

I also unpack the hormonal layer for both women and men, how shifts in oestrogen, testosterone and dopamine can soften drive and reveal what was previously masked by stress chemistry. Sometimes hormones don’t create the shift. They reveal it.

This episode is about integration, maturation and nervous system recalibration.

We talk about:

  • The difference between expansion and integration
  • Why safety can feel unfamiliar after years of striving
  • Powerful self-inquiry questions to uncover whether your drive is desire or conditioning
  • The “death of reinvention” as a rite of passage
  • Somatic tools to help your nervous system learn that stillness is not a threat

Maybe this season isn’t about who you are becoming.

Maybe it’s about learning how to experience who you already are.

If you’re in that in-between space where growth has stopped feeling exciting, this conversation will meet you there.
