A few weeks ago, I went on a social media rant about the failings of our HBCU Athletic departments (see here https://www.instagram.com/p/CCLkFEXHBlD/), well Jackson State Univ must have heard me, because they went out and hired NFL Hall of famer, Deion Sanders. Within days of that hiring, the Athletic Departments value jumped by $19 million showing that if we lend our celebrity and equity to our HBCUs, we can help them grow
