When is Jesus useless? (The Final Days of Jesus)

What do we do when something becomes useless? Like an empty roll of toilet paper, when something becomes useless, we throw it away. This happens not only with stuff, but with people too -- through divorce, broken friendships and company downsizings, we tell people that we no longer have a need for them. What happens when we apply this throw-away mentality to the Lord? In Matthew 21, we see Jesus reminding the chief priests and Pharisees of the words of King David, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone." When we, the builders, the people of God reject that stone, Jesus, we say that Jesus is worthless, that he has no value in our lives. We deem Jesus worthless when we ignore the goodness of the Father, when we ignore the messengers of God, and when we despise Jesus himself.
