There will be

No fights over dozens of calls

No social posts alluding to disputes

No doors bolted, no food left cold

No sullen nights, no coldish days

No rushing out of the car in a huff

No solitary walk in rain, wet and wintry

No frumpy skeletons, out of the closet

No un-following, un-liking, un-loving

No scars to hide, no broken promises

No flurry of texts written and deleted

Nothing will be obligatory

Except

A look that is devoid of love

Lonely winter tree, devoid of birds

An empty look with no memories

Empty of monsoon songs, of spring

As if I had made you up in my head

A look you would give to an outlander

That will suffice.
